ALBANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi announced Saturday that an Assembly budget proposal includes $5.4 million to help protect military facilities retentions throughout the state, notably Rome Labs.

Brindisi says that by including this critical funding in the proposal, the first step has been taken in a long battle to safeguard Rome?s military research lab.

The money could help protect the lab if a BRACC happens in 2015.

He says, ?Currently, the Air Force Research Lab plays a crucial role in our local economy, as well as our national security. That?s why it?s essential that this funding is included in our final budget, and I will continue to work tirelessly to make sure Rome?s research facility, DFAS and EADS are maintained and continue to grow and strengthen our economy.
