ALBANY, N.Y. (WKTV) - Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi announced Saturday that an Assembly budget proposal includes $5.4 million to help protect military facilities retentions throughout the state, notably Rome Labs.Brindisi says that by including this critical funding in the proposal, the first step has been taken in a long battle to safeguard Rome?s military research lab.
The money could help protect the lab if a BRACC happens in 2015.
He says, ?Currently, the Air Force Research Lab plays a crucial role in our local economy, as well as our national security. That?s why it?s essential that this funding is included in our final budget, and I will continue to work tirelessly to make sure Rome?s research facility, DFAS and EADS are maintained and continue to grow and strengthen our economy.
